I’m New Here

Thinking about visiting? We’re so glad. Walking into a new church for the first time can feel like a lot, so here are answers to some of the questions people most often ask before they come.

What should I wear?

There’s no set dress code at Grace—just come as you feel comfortable. You’ll see everything from jeans to business casual on a given Sunday. Whether your style is casual or formal, when we dress out of love for God, it’s all welcome here.

What will I walk into?

When you come through our doors, you’ll step into our gathering area. Many members and guests visit there before the service begins, and most stick around afterward to catch up and get to know one another. If it’s your first time, someone will be happy to greet you and point you in the right direction.

What will the service be like?

Our worship is centered on Jesus Christ and the message of salvation. Each service follows a clear, time-tested order that keeps the focus on God’s Word and makes worship easy to follow—everything you need is printed in the service folder you’ll receive when you arrive. You can expect Bible readings, congregational hymn singing, and a sermon that explains Scripture and applies it to everyday life.

What is there for my kids?

Children are a great joy to us, and the sights and sounds of little ones in worship are always welcome. Even from their earliest years, children are models of faith for all of us—Jesus himself said so. Our worship is designed for families to be together, with active engagement and participation for everyone, including the youngest among us. Come discover the blessing of worshiping alongside your children.

Following the service, we offer Sunday School for children ages 3 through 8th grade, along with a class for high school students that explores current topics through the lens of Scripture. Adults are invited to a Bible study during the same hour—so the whole family has a place to keep growing after worship.

Will I be expected to give an offering?

An offering is collected during each service, and giving is also available online. These gifts support our congregation, our synod, and mission work around the world. Members and guests are welcome to participate, but please don’t feel obligated—you are our guest.

What about Communion?

Holy Communion is more than the bread and wine we see and taste. Jesus promises, “This is my body” and “This is my blood.” Through the bread and wine we eat and drink, Jesus is physically present with us (Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:27). It is a sacrament—something God does for us—that assures us of our salvation through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

Because we take this promise seriously, we ask that guests who are not members of our church speak with our pastor before receiving the Sacrament. This isn’t about excluding anyone—it’s about making sure we’re united in what we believe this gift is and what it means. We’d love the chance to talk with you.

We can’t wait to meet you. Sunday worship begins at 9:00 a.m., with Sunday School and Bible study for all ages following at 10:15 a.m. If you have any other questions before your visit, please contact us—we’d be glad to hear from you.
