Today’s Thought 5/24 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Col 3:12
Paul has already told us what we must, “get rid of.” Namely, those nasty sins of the flesh that are so easily triggered such as, anger, rage, malice, etc. Now he tells us what to cloth ourselves with, the fruits of the Spirit, compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. This is who we are to be, and for what we have been called. With the Spirit’s help, we are to rise above the temptation to act as the world acts. To whom much is given, much is expected. You and I have been given all spiritual blessings in Christ. Therefore, we act in keeping with our Lord’s love for us, rather than in line with the conduct and attitudes of the world. We love, because Christ first loved us. Prayer: Lord, we belong to you because you have bought us at a price, your precious blood. Help us now to live a live of love clothing ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. AMEN
